The Best Clean Beauty Body Oils for Glowing Skin All Winter

The other day I was going through my usual morning skincare routine. After I patted my face dry, I looked at myself in the mirror and noticed how healthy and glowing my face was. Then I noticed my décolletage, shoulders, and arms. They looked like a totally different body compared to my face. We all put in lots of love and care into our faces, but sometimes we may neglect the skin all over our body. I know I do sometimes.

In cold weather months, my skin becomes very dry. I can barely go a whole day before I need to apply lotion again. I have dark skin and it becomes very obvious when my skin is dry. Not only does it look bad but I don’t like the feeling of dry skin, it gives me the willies.

Why I Use Clean Body Oils

That is why in winter, body oil is an essential product for me. A few years ago, I used Johnson and Johnsons baby oil regularly. I was having a hard time with my skin, it became very irritated easily and became painfully itchy. I used the baby oil to lock in moisture after showers.

Long story short, I stopped using Johnson and Johnsons for a while and my legs felt SO much better. It turned out that the product I thought was helping me was ruining my skin more. I don’t know exactly what was in the oil that my skin found irritating but that is how my clean skincare journey began!

Since then, I have used tons of different clean and nontoxic body oils to find the best ones. Here is a rundown of my favorites!

Herbivore Jasmine Body Oil

Jasmine Body Oil

Key Ingredients

  • Jojoba Oil
  • Grapeseed Oil
  • Jasmine Oil

This product is a blend of botanical oils including jojoba, grapeseed, and jasmine oil. It is rich in texture and in smell – the smell of jasmine is absolutely intoxicating. It’s not a floral scent that kind of tickles your nose (if you’ve ever experienced that). Rather, the jasmine oil fragrance has a deep and rich body. I was in heaven the first time I tried it and the smell alone is a great reason to buy this body oil. The body oil itself is very generous to the skin. You get a deep hydration that leaves skin supple and is non-greasy. It is a heavy blend though, and a little goes a long way.

One Love Organics Gardenia + Tea Antioxidant Serum

Gardenia + Tea Antioxidant Body Serum

Key Ingredients

  • Pumpkin Seed Oil
  • Green Tea Seed Oil
  • Chia Seed Extract
  • Antileukine

This body serum from One Love Organics has some of my favorite ingredients in it including pumpkin seed oil, sea buckthorn oil, chia seed extract, kelp, green tea seed oil, and calendula extract. All these ingredients work together to hydrate and nourish your skin. The pumpkin seed oil also provides a very gentle exfoliation to get rid of those dead skin cells.

This antioxidant serum also features Antileukine a clinically proven antioxidant powerhouse that works to protect the skin against elemental stressors and dryness. The serum also comes in a bottle with a unique nozzle that produces a fine mist to evenly distributes the serum, making application a breeze. The serum is light enough to be used under a moisturizer or can be used on its own. It is also very fast absorbing.

OSEA Undaria Algae Oil

Key Ingredients

Undaria Algae Oil
  • USDA Organic Undaria
  • Sesame Seed Oil
  • Passionfruit Seed Oil

This body oil from OSEA Malibu is rich with nutrients for your skin. To make this special body oil, a potent blend of botanical oils including acai pulp oil, babassu oil, passionfruit seed oil, and sesame seed oil, is mixed with USDA Organic Undaria Algae and left to soak for 6 months. This ensures that the nutrients, vitamins, and minerals from the algae infuses with the oils. This makes for an incredibly nourishing body oil that will leave your skin deeply prednisone hydrated, supple and more firm. It is also supposed to help with stretch marks but I have not used it regularly enough to see any results on that front.

Maya Chia The Revitalizer Supercritical Body Oil

Key Ingredients

The Revitalizer Supercritical Body Oil
  • Supercritical Chia Seed Oil
  • Pumpkin Seed oil
  • Jojoba Oil

I know what you’re thinking, what does supercritical mean? It doesn’t mean that its really really important, supercritical refers to the method of oil extraction. In this case, Maya Chia extract chia seed oil through supercritical fluid extraction. To be honest, I am not savvy enough to explain the science behind this method, but essentially it allows for oil to be extracted higher volume and in a more natural state that replicates the way the oil is found in the plant. Some of the other star ingredients include jojoba oil, pumpkin seed oil, and pomegranate seed oil, which will leave your skin deeply hydrated for 24 hours!

True Botanicals Pure Radiance Oil

Key Ingredients

  • Chia Seed Oil
  • Green Tea Seed Oil
  • Sandalwood Oil

This body oil from the clean beauty masters at True Botanicals is very simple but very effective. It uses hemp, chia, green tea, and sunflower seed oils for a blend that creates a luminous tadalafil glow over your whole body. It has an earthy scent with hints of cedarwood, patchouli, and sandalwood. It’s a double win because sandalwood smells amazing, but is also very good for your skin.

  1. This post is alarming because I use Johnsons and Johnsons baby oil, like you mentioned, to lock in moisture. I will be looking into your suggested alternatives.

  2. I love this post!!! Oils are a great idea that I think people forget about. I used to use pumpkin oil and this is making me want to start again. Thank you!!
