Cleansing your face is undoubtedly the most important step in skincare. Compared to multi-tasking serums and holy grail facial masks, cleansers don’t often get the same hype around them, but without cleansing, no other skincare products will work! A natural facial cleanser is a must for your skincare routine.

With some many cleansers out there on the market, which one is the best for you? First of all, we can cut out a huge portion by eliminating all cleansers that include ingredients including sulfates, parabens, and fragrance, among others, that are doing your skin no favors. To read more about why these ingredients are harmful, check out my article Ten Ingredients to Avoid in Beauty Products.

The cleanser you need is non-toxic, gentle, and effective. Also, it will have ingredients that work for your particular skin type and skincare goals. This might sound obvious, but sometimes we see a really popular product that we want to get, but it just may not be the ideal product for you. Here I have listed the best nontoxic and natural facial cleanser that meet different skin types and needs.

So you have pretty nice skin huh? Lucky you! But, you still need to take care of that face to maintain your naturally balanced face. I recommend OSEA’s Ocean Cleanser. It’s unique texture gently washes away surface impurities while delivering antioxidants and minerals to protect your skin. It leaves your skin feeling balanced and refreshed.

Best for Oily Skin

My cleanser recommendation for oily skin also comes from OSEA. What can I say, I love their products! The Ocean Mudd Cleanser formula uses is made from a mix of organic seaweeds that decongests oily and blemish-prone skin. Seaweed is a superfood ingredients – rich in minerals, amino acids, and vitamins. Jojoba oil helps to balance oil levels of the face leaving your skin balanced. Wild mint, tea tree, and peppermint provide a cooling and tingling sensation for a very satisfying end result!

True Botanicals’ Nourishing Cleanser from their Clear Collection is the perfect face wash for acne-prone skin. This gentle cleanser lifts surface impurities while also providing a light exfoliation to help decongest the pores. The does not over dry your skin which only exacerbates your acne. Black willow bark provides a natural salicylic acid for exfoliation while green and white tea provides powerful antioxidant protection. It is also lightly scented with sandalwood, need I say more?

Best for Dry Skin

This cleansing balm from Naturopathica provides a luxurious spa treatment for your parched skin at home. The thick cream glides on gently and easily and starts breaking down makeup and impurities right away. Manuka honey provides an antibacterial component but more importantly, it works to strengthen the skin’s moisture barrier. For dry skin, the moisture barrier is essential because it keeps moisture locked into the skin. Royal jelly peptides also work to the same ends plus promoting skin renewal.

Best Oil Cleanser

The Vitamin B Enzyme Cleansing Oil is hands down the best oil cleanser I’ve used. It is one of my all-time favorite skincare products! The oil is rich and glides smoothly over prednisone your skin. With a small amount of water, the oil turns milky as it breaks apart all the gunk on your face. Fruit enzymes from pumpkin and papaya seed oil provides a gentle exfoliation while omega-rich sunflower seed hydrates and enriches the skin. I personally did not like the smell of this product, though everyone else on the whole planet does seem to like it. Despite not liking the smell I continued to use the product because it was so good. The scent is tropical and is found very enjoyable by many people.

Best No Rinse Cleanser

This innovative product is a recent winner of the Byrdie Eco Beauty Awards because it goes above and beyond your traditional no-rinse cleanser. This product utilizes micelles, small balls of oil that tadalafil attract dirt and impurities, in aloe vera rather than water, providing extra hydration for the skin. Neem, turmeric, and holy basil help protect against skin-damaging pollutants that can wreak havoc on your skin. If you know you have a hard time washing your face every day (I definitely do) having this quick and effective way of cleaning is essential for you!!
