I first discovered these three Naturopathica products available in The Detox Box. If you are not familiar, The Detox Box is a subscription service from The Detox Market that sends you clean beauty products to your door every month!
The cost is $55 but the value of the box is often double! The September Box included these three full-sized Naturopathica products, a total value of $173!!

Their goal has been to find herbal remedies to skincare problem and they have been very successful with their formulas.

How I Fell in Love with Naturopathica
I wasn’t sure at first but after I read about the products on Naturopathica’s sight, I was convinced! I actually bought it for my fiancee (Patrick). He is very fair, has slightly sun-damaged skin, and has dry patches on his face. When I was reading about these products the words that jumped out to me most were ‘soothing’ ‘reduces redness’ ‘gentle exfoliation’ and ‘hydrating’.
This is exactly what Patrick needed. Something that would soothe his dry sun-damaged skin, reduce the redness of his fair skin, gently exfoliate his dry patches, and hydrate his face all over!
And guess what? Patrick did love the products! He also may just like to pretend that he cares while I carefully teach him about products and how to apply them (true husband material if you ask me)!
Either way, it worked out because as I was teaching him, I fell in love with the products and use them every day now! I wrote this Naturopathica review to pass on my experience with their products!
Now let’s get to it!
Oat Cleansing Facial Polish
Key Ingredients
- Oat Protein and Oat Beta Glucan: both work to soothe dry skin and any inflammation
- Jojoba Beads: provides a gentle and effective exfoliation
- Sunflower and Sesame Seed Oil: – provides deep hydration and strengthens moisture barrier
Perfect For
- Gentle Exfoliation
- Combination, Dry, Sensitive Skin
Don’t let the word polish fool you, Naturopathica’s Oat Facial Cleansing Polish provides a gentle and soothing exfoliation of dead skin and debris. This is the first time I used a product with jojoba beads and they are such a cool ingredient! Essentially, they are small beads of jojoba oil wax. They help give you a nice exfoliation but also give your skin lots of moisture.
You may remember the outcry that came from consumer when the real effects of microbeads in exfoliating products was realized. These microbeads fall into a category of plastic known as microplastic. They cannot be filtered through our water processing plants and end up dumped into the ocean. It is just one more way that we end up dumping plastic into the ocean and hurting marine life.
With Naturopathica, you don’t have to worry about any potential risks to our environment. Jojoba beads eventually dissolve in water, and of course, do not contain any plastic. I was very happy to find a product that provides exfoliation that is safe and gentle enough to use every day!
If you have dry skin in winter I 100% recommend this product. No cleanser has EVER, seriously, has left my face feeling so soft, smooth, and moisturized.
Plus with Lavender, Rose, Rosemary, and Ylang Ylang oils, this product smells like heaven.
Calendula Essential Hydrating Cream
Key Ingredients
- Calendula: a powerful herb that contributes to the healing of the skin. Also has soothing and anti-inflammatory properties.
- Trehalose: moisturizers and helps with moisture retention
- Borage Seed Oil: provides essential lipids that provide moisture to the skin while also being anti-inflammatory
Perfect For
- Soothing Hydration
- All Skin Types
Naturopathica’s Calendula Essential Hydrating Cream is a rich and luxurious moisturizer that leaves your skin soft and balanced. Calendula has become a very popular ingredient in skincare for its ability to heal and restore skin.
I just gifted my sister-in-law with calendula baby cream because it is so gentle on skin yet helps to clear up any rashes or irritation! I love products that use ingredients like calendula, which not only provide cosmetic benefits but truly work to make skin healthy.
The secret to this moisturizer’s hydration is trehalose. Basically, trehalose is a naturally occurring sugar that is very similar in structure to the skin’s natural protective barrier. This helps the skin stay in strong condition even in the harshest of climates. A strong protective barrier also helps with moisture retention on a molecular level, meaning your skin stays soft and hydrated for longer.
Overall, I have loved using this moisturizer. I like to use it at night because it is so rich and I always wake up with really soft skin. It doesn’t make my skin glow or be more luminous, rather my skin looks balanced and soft.
I use it on especially cold nights when I can feel my skin getting dry. My apartment has a poor heating prednisone system; its either very cold or the heat dries out all the air and I still end up with dry skin. So, it’s important for me to have a product that will keep my skin hydrated and protected all night.
And the smell….oh my gosh that smell. Guys, it is so relaxing and beautiful. So far Naturopathica is on point with creating incredible smells without being irritating or overwhelming.

Carrot Seed Soothing Facial Oil
Key Ingredients
- Carrot Seed Oil: A vital source of vitamin E
- Evening Primrose Oil: abundant source of essential fatty acids
- Jojoba Oil: full of minerals and antioxidants
Perfect For
- Luminous Hydrated Skin
- All Skin Types esp. Dry and Sensitive Skin
Of the three Naturopathica products, the Carrot Seed Soothing Facial Oil is my favorite. For those that do not enjoy facial oils, its usually because the oil is too heavy or does not absorb properly into the skin. Neither is true of this carrot seed facial oil.
Once I have warmed the oil in my palms, I gently press it on my face. In moments, the oil is well absorbed and my face is immediately softer and brighter. I was very pleased with how effortlessly this oil absorbs into the skin.
It also leaves a beautiful glow on your face. Not a shiny glow of oil residue, a soft luminous glow from all the vitamins and minerals you have just given your skin!
My face felt soft to the touch without any residue left over. I have sometimes not used moisturizer after this oil! I know that some use facial oils as moisturizers, but I have never found an oil that made my skin feel soft and balanced enough. Of course, it smells remarkable. I highly recommend it!
Have you tried these products from Naturopathica or any others? How do you feel about them? Please, tell me in the comments!
Until next time,
Dora
